24 Nov Taking Arianna Huffington’s advice at Warm and Glad in Craighall Park
Today is a very positive milestone for me. Well, I hope that it will be positive… This morning, I wrote my last exam for this semester. This means that I have 11 modules left for next year, which means – fingers crossed – this time next year I’ll be the proud owner of an LLB. So, in celebration of this I decided to treat myself to lunch. And as Arianna Huffington recommends in her book Thrive, you should vary your working environment as your brain engages more fully with what you’re doing when you’re in new places. As I’ve never been to Warm and Glad, I thought I would give her advice a try.
My best friend has told me about Warm and Glad in Craighall Park, and has told me that it’s a great mobile office. As I’m always on the look-out for a new place to transfer my working environment to I’ve been very keen to try this restaurant for a while. The problem is that every time that I’ve wanted to come here the restaurant has been closed. So when I decided that I needed an after-exams treat, Warm and Glad was the first place I thought of coming.
Warm and Glad’s menu changes every week and encompasses options from salads right down to pasta and seafood for both lunch and dinner. The salad I sampled consists of salmon, avocado, baby spinach and feta on a bed of julienned peppers and cucumber. The flavours are beautifully balanced and work well together. Taking a look at the menu I’m already planning my next trip here – salivating all the way!
I didn’t have to wait long for my food and the wait staff keep their distance but are always close on hand just in case you might want a refill cup of coffee. The ambience is very New York lofftish and the music that is played is very chilled, which all adds to the work – conducive environment.
So if I’m not at home behind my laptop, in the future, you know where to find me!
